Her pregnancy unsettles her, and while her belly grows, the world around her becomes increasingly uncertain, amplified by the fact that her partner loses himself in a grim underworld of conspiracy theories.

In a whirling and poetic manner, Lazaroms tells the story of one woman’s search for home and her journey into new motherhood. It explores what happens when life throws unexpected things your way. To get a grip on the situation and her own inner demons, Lazaroms takes refuge in the works of authors like Valeria Luiselli, Maggie Nelson, and Carmen Maria Machado, creating a lifeline when life on the water becomes unbearable—a journey that ultimately leads her into single motherhood.
